Instead, what would be helpful is if Cisco devices(layer 2 especially) were poled for "sh ip igmp snooping groups" information. I'm not sure what the MIB is for this, but that info would be useful as opposed to the "Traffic on multicast group 239.255.8.0 is 0 pps" event logging. I could eliminate these messages two ways...
1. disable mulitcast monitoring for that device.
2. filter the mulitcast traffic for all devices. This requires a lot of configuration changes for a lot of devices.
